Corrosion protection is a highly complex field. Here, metallic surfaces interact with chemical process agents from preliminary production stages under climatic influence.

EXCOR Korrosionsforschung GmbH, founded in 1996, is the leading specialised laboratory in the field of temporary corrosion protection. We develop innovative corrosion protection systems that help our customers to minimise risks in their process chain, test new packaging with original parts in our climate chambers and develop effective VCI and ICB products. Both technical and ecological aspects are taken into account. Our expertise is underlined by international patents.

Overview of EXCOR corrosion research services – More than just advice

Research and development of corrosion protection systems

Research and development is the starting point for EXCOR corrosion research. We concentrate on the further development and optimisation of innovative and high-performance corrosion protection systems, metal-specific and multi-metal capable, which meet the increasing requirements of the industry.

In order to prove the corrosion protection effect in individual applications using model packaging, we use methods developed in-house that also lead to new findings. We test the practical implementation of these results under real conditions in our technical centre facilities using R&D samples.

Corrosion protection testing and damage analysis

We attach great importance to providing services and advice that are tailored to the needs of our customers, primarily from the metalworking industry.

Corrosion damage can have a wide variety of causes. Analysing the substances on the metal surface of the original parts provides valuable information. Cleaning processes are often partly responsible for the development of corrosion. We also have extensive experience in this area and can make recommendations.

However, our commitment goes beyond simply testing and analysing. We share our expertise in regular training courses and workshops to make users aware of preventive measures.

Application technology

Our application technology has decades of experience. We always differentiate between the chemical active ingredient system and the carrier material. This opens up numerous application options that take economic, ecological and practical aspects into account.

There are several solutions for most application requirements. This also includes the option of testing complete packaging units in our climate chambers to ensure they are safe from corrosion damage. The effort involved is disproportionate to the consequences of damage.

We develop customised packaging solutions and manufacture corrosion protection products ourselves. We guarantee consistently high quality through comprehensive and traceable 100% control of all products. Our tests simulate real application conditions and verify the effectiveness and reliability of VCI and ICB products.
